On May 11, 2017, Mr. Zhenyou Gui has successfully defensed his PhD dissertation entitled “Selective Oxidation of 5-Hydroxymethylfurfural with Novel Catalysts”.

     Mr. Zhenyou Gui received his bachelor degree in 2012 from East China University of Science and Technology. In Sep. 2012, he joined our group as a Ph.D. candidate. From Sep. 2015 to Sep. 2016, he worked as a joint Ph.D. student at Technical University of Denmark under the supervision of Prof. Anders Riisager.

     During his Ph.D. study, he synthesized various catalysts to resolve the problems in the current 5-HMF oxidation process and investigated the relationship between structure and catalytic activity. Based on his achievements, He has published 6 SCI-index papers.
